General care

To give enough time and attention to each patient, we work at both locations by appointment only. Both in Bergschenhoek and Bleiswijk, we have a spacious waiting room and two separate, fully-fledged consulting rooms, where consultations take place.

What is a consultation for?

A consultation may be needed for several reasons.

Health check

We also like to keep healthy animals healthy, which is why our advice is to come for a consultation with your dog, cat, rabbit and/or rodent at least once a year. During this consultation, your pet will undergo a general physical examination to assess its overall health and detect any conditions in time. The necessary vaccinations can also be given during this annual consultation.

Health complaints

A consultation may also be necessary if concerns arise about your pet's health. The vet will then perform a thorough physical examination, checking your pet from 'head to tail'. As the owner, you are also very important in this, because beyond the physical examination of your pet, your story and findings are essential. After the physical examination of your pet and the conversation with you as the owner, we will go through the findings and discuss follow-up steps and/or start treatment. Sometimes a follow-up consultation is needed for more extensive additional examination.

Other reasons

Other reasons for a consultation may include an emergency consultation (where your pet needs to be seen as soon as possible), a check-up consultation (e.g. to follow up on an ongoing treatment), a pre-anaesthetic consultation (for a final check prior to anaesthesia), an inpatient consultation (when your pet is staying in our hospital) or a consultation for a second opinion (when you would like a second opinion on a previously made diagnosis and/or treatment).

If you are unsure whether a consultation appointment is necessary, do not hesitate to contact us.
